It's been the rainy season for a while now, but rainfalls have been heavier the past few days due to the tropical depression. As drivers, we all know that with heavy rainfall comes heavy traffic! Not only that, but roads may be slippery, floods are inevitable, and there is less visibility, especially with heavy rainfall. Although the rain is expected to ease up, it's always best to stay prepared as the rainy season in the Philippines won't end until November. Here are a few of my essentials for drivers this rainy season.
1. Wiper Blades
Is this even a surprise? Great visibility is a must especially when downpours happen—wipers are your car's best friend when it comes to that. As a standard, wiper blades should be replaced every 6 months or as soon as you notice a deterioration in the performance of your current wipers. Signs you need to look out for are squeaking, streaks, and vibration.

2. Dehumidifier
Keeping the air in cars dry is important. With the amount of water and moisture getting into the cabin with wet passengers going in and out, windows and doors opening, and sometimes leakage from worn-out car waterproofing, you're in big trouble with the possibility of mildew and molds growing which decreases the air quality in the cabin. One way to reduce moisture in the car is by installing a dehumidifier in the car which will keep your air clean and dry, and gets rid of "amoy kulob" in your cabin.

3. Hydrophobic Coating
Hydrophobic coatings are less common but are highly useful in improving visibility in the rain. Hydrophobic provides a water-repelling coating on your car windows, leading to a beading effect. Aside from this, it helps avoid dirt sticking to your windows making cleaning easier, and since water won't stick, it also helps avoid acid rain marks in the long term.
