Acne is something many of us struggle with, and something that I, personally, have been struggling with for years. I've tried so many products to try to battle acne, yet it just won't seem to go away. Fresh Skinlab recently released their new skincare line—Green Tea and Cucumber Acne Set, and I was so excited to give this a try.
About the Brand
If you don't already know, Fresh Skinlab is a local skincare brand that offers Korean-value skincare products that are not only easy on the wallet, but of good quality as well.
They recently launched their NEW Green Tea and Cucumber Acne Set, and I was thankfully able to get my hands on these. The first thing I noticed is its price—starting at Php 139, you can already purchase their Jelly Serum Soap! The whole set costs only Php 1,165 which isn't bad considering the fact that there are 5 products in the set.
Jelly Serum Soap (Php 139)
The first set in every skincare routine is cleansing the skin. Fresh Skinlab's Green Tea And Cucumber Acne Care Jelly Serum Soap is formulated with Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide, and Green Tea which naturally moisturizes, detoxifies, and purifies the skin. This cleanser not only lifts away dirt and impurities but also reduces sebum production, perfect for those with oily skin.
I think that a key ingredient in this cleanser is that it contains salicylic acid, which I believe should be incorporated in every skincare routine because it's a BHA that cleanses the pores to get rid of blackheads. The soap is packed in a tray out of the box which I think is a nice touch. The soap itself is transparent with a green hue. Personally, I love how this one smells—I can't quite describe the smell but it smells kind of earthy with a hint of mint.
Jelly Peel (Php 299)
If you've been reading my previous blogs, then you'd know how important it is to exfoliate your skin—not only does it leave the skin feeling soft, but removes the dead skin layer of the skin revealing your youthful glow. Fresh Skinlab's Green Tea And Cucumber Acne Care Jelly Peel effectively removes dirt and makeup residue from the skin whilst reducing oil production and inflammation to prevent breakouts.
Fresh Skinlab recommends using this 3x a week but personally, I'd only exfoliate my skin a maximum of twice a week to prevent over-exfoliation. This is applied directly to the skin after cleansing and rubbed in a circular motion until it dries out. When it dries out, you can visibly see dirt and residue lifted out.
Jelly Serum Mist (Php 249)
Mists have become an essential part of my routine so imagine my excitement when I found out that they also released a mist in this skincare line. Based on my understanding, this is a 3-in-1 product—mist, toner, and serum in one. I think it's such an interesting concept because it reduces the steps in your skincare routine. Formulated with Salicylic Acid, Zinc PCA, Green Tea Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Glycolic acid, and hydrolyzed collagen, this mist not only fights acne, but boost skin moisture, fight the early signs of aging, and defy fine lines and wrinkles leaving your skin smoother, with a healthy, youthful glow.
I personally use mists on my skin only in the morning but since this is 3-in-1, it's best to use this in the morning and evening. I really love how "fresh" this makes my skin feel—it has a subtle cooling effect.
Soothing Gel Lotion (Php 249)
I personally discovered Fresh Skinlab through their soothing gels so them releasing a soothing gel for this line was inevitable. Formulated with Salicylic Acid, Zinc PCA, and Green Tea Extract, this fast-absorbing, and lightweight soothing gel not only hydrates and soothes the skin, but also controls sebum production, reduce inflammation, and lighten dark spots.
Personally, I don't use soothing gels on my face rather, I use them on my body after waxing, however, this made an exception. Unlike the soothing gels I've used in the past, Fresh Skinlab's Green Tea And Cucumber Acne Care Soothing Gel is non-greasy and doesn't make my skin look oily. Moreover, it's formulated with salicylic acid which is great for dark spots.
Sleeping Pack (Php 229)
If you're looking for extra hydration, Fresh Skinlab's Green Tea And Cucumber Acne Care Sleeping Pack is the product for you. This sleeping pack is a lightweight face mask that packs moisture into your skin overnight so you wake up to hydrated skin.
After using this a few times, I noticed that my skin looked more hydrated and awake during the day. It doesn't feel greasy to use this overnight and I clearly saw results the next day which was unexpected for me.
Overall, Fresh Skinlab's NEW Green Tea And Cucumber Acne Care is definitely worth the try and for only Php 1,165 for the Starter Set with all 5 products, you can truly say goodbye to acne in as fast as 1 week.
